Internship, Physical Preparation Coach


Description – Intern positions are available for summer of 2013 (May – July). Interns will be become part of a team focused on the development and implementation of cutting edge training programs designed to prevent injury and enhance physical performance in athletes. Interns will gain valuable, hands on experience with the science and practice of all areas of athletic preparation. There will also be a focus on the skills and techniques of operating a small business in the strength and conditioning industry. Required hours will be 30-40 hours per week.


Qualifications – Applicant should be working towards or hold a degree in exercise science, kinesiology, or physical education. Preference will be given to those with experience in an athletic strength and conditioning environment, with a basic understanding of periodization, plyometric and free weight training. A dynamic personality with the ability to motivate athletes during intense training is preferred. Both graduate and undergraduate students will be considered.

Compensation – School credit can be earned through independent study. A financial stipend is also available.
